Overthinking X-O Manowar’s Best Kills

July 28, 2020

X-O Manowar’s TOP TEN kills, counted down in this episode. X-O Manowar is a character defined by ACTION, so I take a look at that action, and also try to decipher what it can tell us about this character.

X-O Manowar is a character from VALIANT COMICS. He first appeared in 1991, as one of Valiant’s first original characters. His early stories were created and heavily influenced by Bob Layton, with artistic collaborators Mike Leeke and Tom Ryder, and many others. When Valiant relaunched in 2012, X-O Manowar was the flagship title, written by Robert Venditti, with an assortment of awesome artistic collaborators: Cary Nord, Lee Garbett, Trevor Hairsine, Doug Braithwaite, Diego Bernard, Joe Bennett, and many others. After this 50-issue run concluded, X-O Manowar returned in 2017, written by Matt Kindt, with artistic collaborators Tomas Giorello, Doug Braithwaite, Clayton Crane, and many others.

Aric is a fifth century Visigoth that is kidnapped by an alien race, and ends up stealing their most powerful weapon, the X-O Armor. When he escapes, he finds that 1600 years have passed due to relativistic time dilation, and he arrives in our present day.

He performs a lot of violence, and in many ways, that defines the character. So that is what this video is all about.

Written, performed, and produced by Sean Neprud.

music by OTV and BenSound.
